Peacock Tail Pavilion

Itinerant Wooden Pavilion Competition - Third Place

The Peacock Tail’s Pavilion.jpg

Traditional Japanese wood joinery combined with CNC modern technology are the foundation of this pavilion design idea. Inspired by the elegant peacock’s tail geometry, the pavilion aims to create an exciting space to be visually explored inside and outside, both during day and night.. The pavilion seats on a 40 sqm platform that constitutes the structural base.  Two gentle ramps, on both sides of the platform, provide access to the space and are covered by the vaulted roof cantilever. Main goal is to create a flexible structure that can be mounted and located anywhere.
