Impluvium House

Flexible Modular Office - House and Guest

Atherton, California, US

Design Features: Modern Luxury and Functionality

• Central Pool as Impluvium: The central pool, inspired by the Roman impluvium, serves as both a visual centerpiece and a functional element. It enhances the indoor climate by cooling the surrounding spaces, while its reflective surface adds a sense of depth and serenity.

• Biophilic Integration: Vertical plant features, abundant skylights, and landscaped pathways reflect a commitment to integrating nature into the built environment. This connection to greenery enhances well-being and provides a calming backdrop for work or relaxation.

• Modular and Sustainable Materials: The use of steel modular systems demonstrates a commitment to sustainability. This construction method reduces environmental impact, shortens construction timelines, and allows for efficient future modifications.

• Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Flow: Expansive glass walls and large open spaces blur the line between indoors and outdoors, flooding the interiors with natural light and offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape. The design fosters a sense of openness while maintaining a strong connection to the natural world.
